They are very pretty. Do you think the black fabric was suppossed to give the quilt a look of velvet? I think that it is really neat that you found all of them.
They do look distinctive and I think the black colour against the bold patterns makes them look really sumptuous. Yet when you look close up the construction and piecing is quite crude. I find it reassuring that the overall effect is so good. Especially after fretting about my own work!
